Also note, in case you missed it yesterday: signups for the August After-School Special issue are now open. If you’re an author or an artist who wants to get in on that action, go throw your name into the hat!
And of course, if you haven’t read the most recent issue yet … well, what’s stopping you? Manly tales of manly adventure await!
Feel free to link, share, and distribute this version wherever you like, as long as you play by the Creative Commons rules on the copyright page and don’t change or charge anything. For those of you interested in formats other than .pdf, be patient — we’re getting different avenues of distribution ready.
Also, as this is still a new project for us, we’re looking for feedback, both good and bad. Feel free to leave comments here or email the SSBB account; be sure to tell us what platform/device you’re using so that we can get a good sense of how this works in a variety of contexts. Suggestions are of course appreciated, as are ideas about different features you’d like to have incorporated in a downloadable issue. Every if all you have to say is ‘everything looks perfect’, we’d love to hear that.
You’ll also notice that at the end of every entry in the digital version, there’s a link back to the story’s original LJ entry so you can tell the creators what you thought. As always, Shousetsu Bang*Bang is a 100% volunteer-run enterprise, and we have every intention of keeping it that way. We don’t charge, solicit, or even accept donations — this is a project that runs on love. As such, if you enjoy something, please: a) tell a friend, and b) tell the creator. The best way to convince the people you love to keep making the things you love is to tell them how much you love it. Love is a very powerful currency.
